The Circus McGurkus

In 2000, after fifteen years of collaboration with the Cirque du Soleil, for which he created no less than 10 shows, amongst which were Quidam, Saltimbanco, Alégria, Mystère, “O” and La Nouba, Franco Dragone announced his return to Belgium where he was to open up his own company in La Louvière. His vocation : to create and produce international shows and events.

The energy he devoted to setting up such a formidable structure in his home town won him considerable admiration, as well as his desire to be personally implicated in the social and economic redeployment of a city all too often left to one side.

Dragone adventure started in La Louvière in the beginning of 2001. Working hand in hand, Franco Dragone and Louis Parenteau, legal and commercial expert, were at the Head of the company. Franco undertook Artistic Direction and Creative Development, whereas Louis undertook Strategic and Business Development >overseeing Legal Affairs and Marketing.

Before delivering these shows, A New Day …. in 2003 and Le Rêve in 2005, DRAGONE created a multitude of special events in Belgium and Europe: Décrocher la Lune, Kick Off, Chapeau Europa, Au Fil de l’Homme, Disney Cinema Parade in Disneyland Paris or more recently Fortissim’O in Vienna, the Crown Opening Ceremony in Macau or Belgacom Xmas Party … To help him create these special events, Franco joined forces with talented people such as Luc Petit who directed the majority of these events.

Franco Dragone and his team are presently working on the new permanent show for City of Dreams in Macau slated for 2009 as well as other projects under development.
